ORCH Data vs Manus: an AI agent on your machine or in their cloud
Review draft: the sources for this comparison still need validation before publication.
orch.space and Manus do the same job from different places: both hand work to an AI agent, but Manus runs that work in its own cloud and orch.space runs it on your machine or on your company infrastructure. With Manus, your browser session is captured and replayed inside a remote sandbox, and every task spends credit even when it fails. With orch.space, credentials live in a vault the agent never reads in the clear, and every sensitive action waits for a human approval.
Point by point
| The point | orch.space (ORCH Data) | Manus |
|---|---|---|
| How you start | You install it on the machine that already reaches your systems, or on your company infrastructure. Access today is through the waiting list. | You create an account on the website and start in the browser, with nothing to install. For a first test it is faster. |
| Where the agent runs | On your machine or on infrastructure you control. The work does not leave where you put it. | In the Manus cloud. Your browser session is captured and replayed inside a remote sandbox. |
| Your passwords and keys | In a vault. The agent uses the credential to act, but never sees the secret in the clear. | Your already authenticated browser session travels with the task into the cloud sandbox. |
| Who approves the action | Sandbox plus human approval before every sensitive action. You see what will happen before it happens. | The agent drives the task from start to finish. In a case published by Salt Labs on 24 September 2026, malicious code hidden in JSFuck was executed and the security warning appeared after the execution. |
| How you pay | Predictable price, no credit that evaporates. The price is not published yet, because we are not selling yet. | By credit. Credit is consumed even when the task fails and you have to ask again. |
| Where your data sits | On your machine or on your infrastructure. ORCH Data is a Brazilian company, based in Goias, under the Brazilian data protection law, the LGPD. | Manus is a Singapore company with Chinese roots. On 27 April 2026 the NDRC, a Chinese government body, blocked the sale of Manus to Meta for 2 billion dollars. Your chain of custody runs through that jurisdiction. |
| Open source | No. orch.space is a proprietary product. If open source is a requirement, look at OpenClaw. | No. Manus is a closed service used through the browser. |
| Certifications | None yet. We hold no SOC 2 and no ISO 27001, and we would rather say so than invent a badge. We will announce it when we have one. | Holds SOC 2 Type I and Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701. On this point Manus is ahead of ORCH Data. |
How to leave Manus in 3 steps
- Write down what you already automate in Manus today and which systems the agent has to touch. That list is your migration plan.
- Join the orch.space waiting list with that plan. We answer telling you whether your case is already covered.
- When access opens, install it on the machine that already holds the permissions, put the credentials in the vault and run the same task with human approval turned on.
Frequently asked questions
Is orch.space an alternative to Manus?
Yes. orch.space, by ORCH Data, is an AI agent that does computer work like Manus, with one central difference: it runs on your machine or on your company infrastructure instead of running in the vendor cloud. Access today is through the waiting list.
What is the difference between orch.space and Manus?
Three things. Where the agent runs: your machine with orch.space, the vendor cloud with Manus. What it sees of your passwords: with orch.space they stay in a vault and the agent never reads the secret in the clear, while with Manus the authenticated browser session goes to the remote sandbox. How you pay: a predictable price with orch.space, credit consumed per task with Manus, including when the task fails.
Where does my data sit?
With orch.space, wherever you told the agent to run: your machine or your company infrastructure. ORCH Data is a Brazilian company based in Goias and handles personal data under the LGPD. With Manus, the work happens in the company cloud, and the company is from Singapore with Chinese roots.
Is Manus safe?
Manus holds SOC 2 Type I and Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, which is more than ORCH Data holds today. It also has three public incidents: a VS Code server exposed through prompt injection inside a PDF, reported by Embrace The Red on 25 August 2025; the SilentBridge flaw, zero click, CVSS between 9.8 and 10.0, with access across different customer accounts, published by Aurascape on 24 February 2026; and remote code execution through prompt injection in JSFuck, with the warning showing up after the execution, published by Salt Labs on 24 September 2026. Certification and incident coexist, so the practical question is where your data was when each one happened.
Is Manus Chinese?
Manus is a Singapore company with Chinese roots. The clearest public fact about it is the veto: on 27 April 2026 the NDRC, a Chinese government body, blocked the sale of the company to Meta for 2 billion dollars. That is not an accusation, it is jurisdiction: it is worth knowing which country the rules that reach your information come from.
Does Manus charge credit even when the task fails?
Yes. The Manus model consumes credit on execution, and a failed task consumes it too. For repetitive work that makes the monthly bill hard to predict. orch.space was built with a predictable price and no credit; the amount is not published yet because we are not selling yet.
Is there a Brazilian alternative to Manus?
Yes. ORCH Data is a Brazilian company from Goias, and orch.space is its product: an AI agent that runs on your machine or on your infrastructure, with a credential vault and human approval. As a Brazilian company it answers under the LGPD, and the contract is governed by Brazilian law.
Can I run an AI agent on my own machine?
You can, and that is exactly what orch.space does: the agent runs on the computer that already reaches your systems, or on a server inside your company. Credentials sit in a vault, every sensitive action waits for human approval, and nothing has to be copied to a vendor cloud.
Does orch.space have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?
Not yet. ORCH Data holds neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 today, and saying so is more useful than hiding it. The product reduces the risk surface by another route, keeping execution and credentials inside your own infrastructure. When a certification exists, it will be published on this page.
How much does orch.space cost?
The price is not published yet, because the product is not on sale yet. The commitment already made is the model: a predictable price, with no credit that disappears when a task fails. People on the waiting list get the price before it opens.
We are not selling yet. Joining the list costs nothing and you can leave whenever you want.
